If you have a craving for burgers but don’t want all the grease and carbs, then these bowls are going to be the perfect fit for you. I started creating burger bowls when I was tired of my lettuce wraps constantly falling apart. I always wanted extra toppings but they would always fall out the bottom and make for a very disappointing experience. When I started having burger bowls I was able to enjoy every bite, with no mess!
To make the bowls, you’ll start by making your burger patties; I use grass fed 85/15 beef. This recipe calls for one pound, but I typically will cook up two pounds so I have some burgers left over for the next day. I like to keep my burgers seasoned simple with ground pepper, garlic salt and onion powder. Once you form your patties, you’ll throw them on your grill! I have a Trager Grill and will heat it up to 425º and have them on for around 4 minutes per side. You could also cook them up in a cast iron pan over medium-high heat.
For the lettuce, I always use sweet butter lettuce. It gives the perfect texture and the right amount of crunch. When I’ve used romaine in the past, it was too harsh of a crunch and flavor. My go-to burger toppings are cherry tomatoes, pickles, bacon, red onion and avocado. Once you assemble your bowl, you can top with your favorite burger toppings – like mustard and Primal Kitchen ranch dressing!
These have become a staple in my house and I hope your family enjoys them as much as we do.

- garlic salt add to taste preference
- onion powder add to taste preference
- 4 cups sweet butter lettuce

- 5 slices bacon, nitrate free
- ¼ small red onion, sliced thin

Instructions

- Allow the burgers to cook for 3-4 minutes and then flip and continue cooking to desired internal temperature.
- While the burgers cook, heat a pan over medium heat and cut your bacon into bite sized pieces and cook until nice and crisp.
- To assemble the bowls, add butter lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and bacon. Top with your burger and add your favorite condiments! I love it with Primal Kitchen ranch and a little mustard.Enjoy!
